THINK TWICE; ACT WISE.

Learn to say 'no!' It might be difficult at first, but there are many ways to say no:

"I'm sorry, I'm not available just at the moment..."
"Could you come back to my office at the end of the day?"
Learn to use these polite refusals more often.

Don't give an answer right away, when you are interrupted and asked for something. Say you need a few minutes to think about it. Then call back.

Remember that you do have the right to say no.
Efficient time management continually demands making choices. Saying no is also making a choice.
When asked for your time or energy, first think 'no', then 'maybe', and then perhaps... 'Yes'.
                                                                                                                   - John Adams

Five occasions when you must say 'No'

  1. When the request is unreasonable.
  2. When the task has a low priority.
  3. When you lack the knowledge or skills.
  4. When angry or upset.
  5. when it need not be done by you at all.
